Abstract

Through self-presentation as a form of public behaviour an individual develops their identity, which indicates the ‘possession of identity-relevant characteristics’ (Leary & Kowalski, 1990). Even at thirteen, Heidi already identifies favourite fashion brands (Brandy Melville; Adidas Originals) and hankers for LA life. A true fashionista!
