Abstract

Fashion can be used to extend the notion of self by asserting a sense of being through consumption. Brands – through the branding exercise – become symbolic representatives of their designers, readily recognisable by consumers. This Louis Vuitton box is immediately identified with the French box maker, Louis Vuitton (est. 1854), who with the distinctive LV monogram, is now one of the world’s leading international fashion houses.
