Abstract

From autumn to spring 1926-27, the Gill family stayed at Salies-de-Béarn, a town at the foothills of the Pyrenees. While there Eric produced about 60 engravings for The Golden Cockerel Press edition of Troilus and Criseyde (1927). This engraving, ‘Approaching Dawn’,  may have been one of them.
