Abstract
In 1952, Salive came across one of Groff Conklin’s famous SF anthologies. Invaders of Earth was published in 1952 and edited by Conklin. It may have been a similar copy that Salive devoured. It contains short stories by writers such as Theodore Sturgeon, A.E. Van Vogt, Frederic Brown, and Murray Leinster, and titles such as ‘An Eel by the Tail’, ‘Not Only Dead Men’, ‘Invasion from Mars’, and ‘The Waveries’. After reading the contents, Salive was hooked. How could you not be?
