Abstract
On his website, Melvyn Grant states that he paints on all sorts of materials including Kryptonite but for the most part he now uses a computer to create his work. Grant produces artwork not only for Fantasy and SF books but for children’s books, adult romance and album covers – most notably for heavy metal band, Iron Maiden. Piers Anthony (b. 1934) moved to the US from England aged six and is most famous for his Xanth series of novels. This series was supposed to be a trilogy but Anthony has just finished book number 39, Five Portraits, with another volume in the pipeline. Anthony says that he was never consulted during the cover art design phase for the Tarot novel and didn’t like the fact that the publisher split his one novel into three.
