Abstract
British author Colin Kapp (1929-2007) had a ‘day job’ in an electronic components factory and later as an electroplating consultant. His novel, The Survival Game, describes Colonel Bogaert’s attempt to ‘stay alive on the wildly primitive planet Avida’. On the cover, painted by Henry Richard van Dongen, Bogaert and his colleague fight off the ever advancing ‘crab-rats’ that inundate the planet.
