Abstract
Boris Vallejo (b. 1941) was born in Peru and emigrated to the US in 1964. More a fantasy and erotica artist, Vallejo’s work is very realistic, almost photographic. His men and women are usually drawn with truly spectacular muscle definition (his wife is a former bodybuilder and often poses for him); surprisingly the women are not usually wearing many clothes. Vallejo is responsible for the movie posters for Barbarella (1968) with Jane Fonda; Conan the Barbarian (1982) with Arnold Schwarzenegger; and National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983) with Chevy Chase.
