New York: Street and Smith Publications

Long-time editor of Astounding SF magazine, J. W. Campbell Jr, first crossed paths with Canadian-born artist Hubert Rogers (1898-1982) in the late 1930s. Rogers had moved to New York in 1925 and worked for various magazines providing artworks. His first published cover for Astounding appeared in February 1939 and over the next thirteen years he painted 63 covers for the Street and Smith publication.
