Salive’s collecting got serious in 1967. Over a period of two to three months, he wrote letters to various SF bookshops asking for catalogues and book lists. Science-Fiction and Fantasy Publications in Denver, New York, was one recipient. In those halcyon days, he enclosed 10 cents postage for their list.
