In August 1937, ten months before Mellor’s death, Harrods of Knightsbridge facilitated the first sale of an assortment of Mellor’s books. This catalogue was printed outlining the books for sale. There are 518 items in this sale ranging from German scientist Georgius Agricola’s (1494-1555) De ortu et causis subterraneorum (On Subterranean Origins and Causes) to German geologist Ferdinand Zirkel’s (1838-1912) Elemente der Mineralogy Begrundet von Carl Friedrich Naumann.
