Abstract

Roy Gardner (1898-1967) later became one of the foundation teachers of the Bachelor of Pharmacy course at Otago. He gained a BSc Auckland 1921, MSc Chemistry Otago 1922 and taught at King Edward College, Dunedin, until 1933. He was awarded a DSc by Otago for his work and publications in 1930; he was a foundation member of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry. In 1933 he gave up his teaching to establish a private consultancy laboratory in Dowling Street, Dunedin.
