Abstract
After the dispersal of the Convent library, this copy of Le Vite de’ Pittori, Scvltori et Architetti by Giovanni Baglione was owned by Francesco Maria Berio, Marchese di Salza (1765-1820), whose estate was inherited by his four daughters. The greater part of Salza’s library was sold to William Ward, 3rd Viscount Dudley and Ward, and eventually shipped to England. This book not only contains Salza’s bookplate, but also the ‘Comme je fus’ (As I was) bookplate of the Earl of Dudley. Dispersal of the Dudley and Ward library may have been after 1833, when the line ended.
