Abstract

Felix Singer was a ceramics chemist, consultant and Czech-German refugee. He quite possibly accompanied Mellor on one of his many trips with the American Ceramic Society, of which they were both Fellows. Like Mellor, Singer collected a large library of ceramics. After his death in 1957 his daughter, Sonja, published the jointly authored 1,455-page Industrial Ceramics in 1963. This letter indicates that Mellor’s humour and cartoons were well received by members of the ceramics community.
